On this website, you will find information that can assist your congregation to care for God’s creation. We hear anecdotally that many congregations have made caring for God’s creation a regular focus in worship or have developed bible study materials. There has also been action taken by congregations to reduce energy used in their facilities. They may have installed solar panels on the roof to use energy that God has provided directly through the sun or installed rainwater capture to use in flushing toilets. Whatever your congregation has been or is doing, please tell us your story – it can encourage other congregations to also try new ways of caring for creation.
While Resources on this website are mainly targeting congregations some may also be useful for your family. If your family has a story to share about caring for God’s creation, we would love to be able to share it here. It may be that you’ve been actively studying devotions that focus on caring for God’s creation. Your family may be actively reducing your use of energy, conserving water, minimising wastes, planting your backyard (or front yard or street verge) to attract bees and butterflies, or to bring back some native plants, or to be more productive through growing food. Whatever you’re doing please tell us your story – it can encourage other families to also try new ways of caring for creation.
Many people across LCA/NZ have been working in their community to protect or restore nature or address an environmental problem. We would like to highlight the work that LCA/NZ members are doing more widely to care for creation. If you have a story that shows how you or someone you know in our church family is working in the wider community to care for creation, then we encourage you to share it with us. Of course if it is someone else, then please get their permission before submitting the information!
Information for congregations, families and individuals can be found in the Resources and Our Stories pages.
